Is MoCA Secure?
The short answer is yes. The longer explanation is:
MoCA works with the existing coaxial wiring in your home. Because it is a wired solution, MoCA technology and MoCA adapters are secure. “MoCA security” can be defined in two ways:
- Secure against attack or breach
- Secure (as in stable) connection every time you connect to the Internet
When you use MoCA to support your Wi-Fi and make it better, you’re adding more security to your home network. Since it only communicates on your at-home coax network, it is totally safe.
Why You Want Secure Internet Solutions
You want secure Internet solutions so that you, your loved ones, and even your coworkers or fellow classmates (if you are working from home or going to school online) stay safe. Not only that, but a secure Internet connection and home network guarantees better performance. You can make sure that your wireless home network is secure by checking or doing a few things:
- Your router placement
- Your Wi-Fi signal strength
- Your Wi-Fi speed (which directly relates to your Wi-Fi signal)
- Using VPN (Virtual Private Network)
- Using data encryption
- Using strong usernames and passwords, changing them regularly.
If all of these elements are doing alright, you’re on your way to a more secure network. You can also add in MoCA as an additional security measure or wired backbone for your home Wi-Fi network. Set up is easy, since it is a plug and play solution.
While MoCA cannot do anything to fix Wi-Fi security risks, it is a secure technology and MoCA adapters are secure devices to use. This is because a MoCA adapter is a wired device. With a direct wire connection, there isn’t anything to hack into like there is with a wireless network device. Wired solutions provide stability, direct connection without interference, and speed.
When your network performs at its best, it can more easily avoid security issues. A compromised or weak network more easily falls victim to security problems. That’s how adapter devices like HT-EM4 MoCA adapters can help.
When your connection is secure, your Internet is better. It’s as simple as that. By using MoCA adapters in your home, you will improve your overall Internet performance, because wiring up makes your network faster and more reliable. Want to learn more about what MoCA can do?
